Wifi based home automation using NodeMCU NodeMcu automation

As the name indicates a Capacitive soil moisture sensor is based on capacitance changes. In this project we learn how to make IoT Based Home Automation using ESP8266 Web Server. By Home Automation we mean controlling lighting and appliances without any manual switch but using the system that is connected to Internet. In this project, we will be an interfacing 4-channel relay with NodeMCU ESP E Wifi Module and control 4 different LEDs.

Then click on the upload button to program the NodeMCU board. For this IoT based home automation project, I have used the Arduino IDE to program NodeMCU. In this IoT project, I have used NodeMCU, so I have selectedNodeMCU. Adafruit SHT40 Temperature and Humidity Sensor Board integrates a fourth-generation sensor and is designed with a true I2C interface. S equally educative and engaging, and without a doubt, you have hit the nail on the head. The issue is something which too few men and women are speaking intelligently about.

Modifying the Normal Pot into Self Watering Smart Pot

When that data is encrypted with SSL/TLS, it’s called HTTPS. The Echo Dot and the ESP8266 must be connected with the same Wi-Fi network. Check the “Self-resetting device” and “Erase before flashing“. Follow these steps to flash the ESP8266 with Tasmota firmware and update the WiFi credentials to get the IP for Tasmota Dashboard.

Client.println(""); Next, the webpage header is sent followed by the buttons and the buttons are set to display the current state of the appliances. They will show OFF if the current state is ON and vice versa. Next, we declare the pins of the Nodemcu to which the relay pins are connected and create variables to hold the state of each relay.

Hardware Components

String token stores the unique token number you got after creating your bot. D0 is the digital output pin for changing the state of the relay. Build Web Servers with ESP32 and ESP8266 »boards to control outputs and monitor sensors remotely. There are several examples that show how to make HTTPS requests with the ESP8266. Self-signed certificates are fine to use on your DIY and IoT projects, intranets, like your local network, or inside a company’s network.

This token is very important as it is required in the program/code. The system will keep trying until the connection is successful. Control home appliances from Blynk App and manual switch using NodeMCU ESP8266 explained with the circuit, source code, and Blynk App setup. Replace SSID and password with your Wi-Fi credentials.

Testing the Telegram controlled Home Appliances

Its works only when internet connection is alive. When is internet goes offline there is no control on Devices so Internet Must Active 24hr/365days. In this case we access anywhere using internet. Im Test this on local network or Live Server Some changes required.

If the certificate is valid, the client creates a new key that will be used later to encrypt communication between the client and server. The browser sends a message to the server encrypted with the public key. Above restriction nullifies practical application of this project in case of power outage. You also have to select the number to map each switch with the respective relay. Since we are using the Blynk Server, the token is necessary to communicate with the server. You can copy the token from the registered email id.

These 4 different LEDs are similar to 4 different Home Appliances. We will use an Android app having 5+5 ON+OFF Buttons to send a signal to NodeMCU in order to control relay output. We will assign this IP Address to Android App for access control. Similarly, NodeMCU is needed to be connected to local Wifi.

Firstly replace the SSID and password given in the code with the SSID and password of your Wi-Fi connection. Then paste the token number you got after creating the telegram bot. Complete edited code is given at the end of this tutorial. An additional security step is to check the server certificate . You can skip this step while testing and prototyping.

If you don’t want to assemble the circuit on a breadboard and you want PCB for the project, then here is the PCB for you. The PCB Board for the Home Automation Project is designed using EasyEDA online Circuit Schematics & PCB designing tool. The front side and back side of the PCB is given below. NodeMCU is interfaced with 4 channel Relay using GPIO Pins of NodeMCU. The output pin of the NodeMCU is connected to 4 different LEDs via a 220-ohm resistor. The NodeMCU is connected to Local Wifi and is capable of receiving a signal via the Internet.

Data Storage is need because you can’t send command to device to Trigger ON or OFF the Light Bulb. But the device fetch read data There Some where to Store Data So Device Can Read. Download .aia file directly and export to MIT app inventor and then you can generate android app from there. Here is a source code for Wifi & Voice-Controlled Home Automation Using NodeMCU & Android. Compile and upload this code to your NodeMCU board.

Then using the Blynk.virtualWrite function I sent those values to the blynk server. We have to calibrate the sensors before connecting. First, I connected one moisture sensor to the circuit.

This post is all about Wifi & Voice Controlled Home Automation Using NodeMCU & Android. Here we will do the same, but instead of using Alexa, we will develop our own App on an Android smartphone to control our locally , our home devices. Next, the sensors, relays, and buzzer PINs are defined. Next, click the PIR sensor control button and name it as you like. Then, change the PIN as V0 and mode to switch.

The circuit is very simple, I have used D1, D2, D5 & D6 GPIO pins to control the 4-channel relay module. In the loop section first, I turned on the digital that is connected to the sensor. We need only the output analog values so I used the analogRead()function and read the connected sensor values. Then, I printed those values on the serial monitor. Now, in the outer pot place the moisture level sensor on any side. There is a line marking on the moisture sensor.
